Abstract:
Randomness and uncertainties are critical issues in the study of transportation systems. In this talk, we study a couple of transportation network design problems with a consideration of system reliability, subject to random disruptions, demand and behavior uncertainties. Through a set of mathematical programming models, we analyze their structures, develop fast computational algorithms, present numerical results, and provide insights for system design and operations.
